Basic Party Packages
Most of our parties fall into one of the following four categories: Basic Entertainment, Standard Theme Party, Personalized Theme Party, or Craft Corner. The quoted rates are for birthday parties of up to 10 children; larger parties require assistants. Additional rates, including those for assistants, goodie bags, treasure hunts, cakes, etc., can be found below. Please also be aware of our Terms and Conditions.
Basic Entertainment – $200 per party hour (2 hour minimum on weekends)
You do the planning and set up of your event and we will come and entertain the children. Sophie will come with her guitar and do songs, stories, games, face painting and a bit of magic. A perfect event for 3 to 5 year olds.
Basic Party – $500 and up
No particular theme - just lots of fun!! A typical party includes decorations, a craft, a piñata, and goodie bags.
Personalized Theme Party – $750 and up
This event is planned specifically for your child. Depending on your wishes, we can do everything, from securing a location to invitations to a specialty cake. Events at these parties include all of those listed in a standard theme party, plus treasure hunts and individualized goodie gifts.
Craft Corner – $400 and up per party hour (depending on number of attendees)
This is perfect for corporate events, company picnics or family reunions. We will set up an area with four to six different crafts for the children, in addition to face painting and tattoos. Manned by two people, these areas become wonderful activity centers for children and adults alike. Rate includes supplies.
Additional Rates
Assistants
$50 per party hour, per assistant
The above quoted party package rates are for birthday parties of up to 10 children. Larger parties require assistants:
- 11 to 18 children: 1 assistant
- 19 to 26 children: 2 assistants
- thereafter - one assistant for every eight children
Balloons
Basic – $12 per dozen
11-inch Qualitex helium balloons with color coordinated ribbons. Used for decoration and then availabe for the children to take home.
Mylar Balloons – $3 to $12 each
Flower Balloons – $5 each
Shaped like a beautiful flower, with heart leaves on a green stem.
Arches – $2.50 per foot
String of pearl arches in one color or assorted.
Rainbow Arch – $10 per foot
Five string of pearl arches in varying size create a walk through rainbow (allow 2 hours for set-up)
Giant 3 foot balloons - $20 each
Beautiful, large balloons with color coordinated collar of 11 inch balloons. Includes 4 inch wide ribbon and a balloon weight. Perfect for marking outdoor entrances.
3 foot balloon pillars - $30 each
Bouquets, Centerpieces, Specialties – $20 and up
We can do whatever you like. Just ask.
Piñatas (unstuffed)
We have three different styles to offer. To keep the "tears" factor to a minimum we place all candy in small baggies so that every child receives the same thing. Prices reflect an unstuffed piñata.
Classic Piñata – $20 and up
We can make one or purchase it for you. Cost is dependent on size and complexity of design.
Standard Pull-String Piñata – $25
No more whacking with a stick. This is a round piñata that has streamers attached to the bottom. Children take turns pulling a streamer until a trap door opens, releasing the goodies. Includes a hand painted front representing the theme of the party. (we arrange it so the birthday child always releases the goodies)
Personalized Pull String Piñata – $35
We will hand paint the front especially for your child.
Crafts
Standard – $2.50 to $5 per child
Crafts have become a hallmark of Sophie's parties. We have a large selection of creative crafts to enthrall both young and older children.
Personalized – $5 to $10 per child
Together with the birthday child we will create a craft idea specifically for that event.
Goodie Bags
Goodie bags/gifts range from simple bags filled with an assortment of candy to mini backpacks filled with various toys and candy.
Standard – $5 to $8 per child
Presented in a cellophane bag tied with pretty ribbon, the bags typical contain 5 or 6 items. Most of our standard theme parties have accompanying goodie bags. A description of the contents of the bag can be provided upon selection of your theme.
Personalized – $8 and up per child
These bags will be designed exclusively for your party and provide each child with a unique remembrance of the party. Hand crafted, individualized bags are common and all of the candy/gifts can be selected and specially ordered if necessary. Cost depends upon selection.
Treasure Hunts
$10 to $25
We devise a treasure hunt specifically for your location. The children are provided with clues that involve reading, rhyming, puzzles or Polaroid photos. The hunt culminates with the children finding a treasure chest filled with their goodie bags.
Games
We have hundreds of games to draw from including everything from active "run-around" games to trivia. Games are tailored to the theme of the party. Upon selection of your theme we can discuss the options.
Decorations
Standard – $50
We can decorate your location to the nines! Packages include three dimensional streamers, glittering stars and assorted birthday banners. Many standard theme parties have accompanying decoration packages reflecting that theme.
Personalized – $75 and up
We will obtain and create a package of decoration that is specifically designed for your location and theme. Please note that the decorations become the property of Sophie's Stress Free Soirees.
Lighting – $125 and up
Disco balls, projectors, fog machines, bubble machines, lava lamps - We have many small lighting and decorative instruments that can turn your location into a dance hall.
Halloween – $200 and up
A fabulous package of decorations including coffins, spider webs, mini skeletons and enough creepy crawlies to scare even the bravest party-goer. These go quickly so reserve early!
Cakes
$35 and up
Due to Health Department regulations we cannot bake cakes for our parties. However, we will help design, order and pick up your cake. We have used many bakeries, from Safeway and Costco to speciality bakeries like Kathy's Kreative Kakes. Prices are dependent on the intricacies of the design and the choice of bakery.
Locations
Market Rate
We have done events and have connection with rental spaces around the Bay Area. They range from parks to country clubs. If you would prefer to have your party at a location other than your home I am sure we can arrange it. Costs are dependent on the location rental fees.
Distance fees
$25 and up
The Stress Free part of your Soiree begins when we bring everything to you. However, should we be required to travel a long distance we charge a small fee to help cover the costs of our gas and tolls. Parties in the immediate East, North and South Bays (Oakland and Berkeley; North to San Rafael and South to San Mateo) require a $25 charge. Costs for outlying areas are calculated based on distance and tolls.
